Philippians 1:6, NLT: And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Scripture says in Ephesians 2:10 that we are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works. God says that he has began a good work in you, so that you can begin His own good work. Since God is working in our lives, He expects us to be working for Him in return.
How do we work? We work to fulfil His divine purpose, mandate, assignment, will and purpose for our lives. A person who has been re-created in Christ Jesus must fulfil his or her destiny. We’ve not been re-created to just cruise through life, we have been re-created to work and keep working until Jesus Christ returns.
Let us arise today and ensure that the work is being done and not left undone, for He who promised i.e. God can be trusted to keep His promises in our lives.
